Lister LR1 Top End Decoke Gasket Set - Lister P/N 657-17034

Important Note: Please choose carefully, gasket sets that have been opened are non-refundable, unless we have sent you something that was incorrect. If you have any doubts about choosing the correct gasket set, please contact us with your engine number and we will check for you.

Basic Decarbonising Instructions

The original manufacturer recommendations recommend that the LR1 is decarbonised after about every 1500 hours of run time, this will require the top end gasket set.

1. Remove cylinder head(s).
2. Remove piston(s) and rings.
   All parts must be thoroughly cleaned and washed in paraffin (Kero)

Special care must be taken with regard to:-

1. Recess in exhaust valve guide(s).
2. Valve ports.
3. Piston ring grooves.
4. Combustion chamber(s) in top of the piston(s).
5. Fins must be cleaned on cylinder(s), cylinder head(s) and injector sleeve(s). This is very important.
6. The inside of the piston(s)
7. Regrind valve seats if not in perfect condition.
8. Clean out exhaust piping and silencer.
