Good quality piston ring set for the Southern Cross YB 3HP diesel engines. This ring set consists of 3 compression rings and 2 oil scraper rings to suit a standard 3.5” bore.
Compression Ring Dimensions:
- Bore Size 3.5” (88.9mm)
- Axial Width 1/8” (3.1750mm)
- Radial Depths Between 0.145” to 0.150” (3.55mm to 3.81mm)
- 3 Per Set
Oil Scraper Ring Dimensions:
- Bore Size 3.5” (88.9mm)
- Axial Width 3/16” (4.762mm)
- Radial Depths Between 0.145” to 0.150” (3.55mm to 3.81mm)
- 2 Per Set.
Note: All rings will need to be gaped to suit your bore. As a general rule of thumb piston rings on vintage engines should have 0.003” of end gap per 1” of cylinder bore size (i.e. 3.5” bore would need 0.0105” end gap). Be sure to gap your rings on the smallest or unworn part of your bore, on worn or older engines that have not had a new liner fitted this would normally be towards the bottom.
