Cast Iron & Tin Exhaust Silencer Suit 1” BSP Pipe (Long)
A well-made canister style exhaust silencer suitable for vintage stationary engines, with cast iron end plates and rolled tin work centre, this high quality silencer will compliment any restoration project. Fits over 1” BSP Pipe (No Thread), or any pipe fitting with an approximate 35mm OD or smaller.
This new silencer is a reproduction of a Ronaldson & Tippett type found on the early Type N generator sets where a quieter muffler was required. The muffler is made of 4 main components, including the top and bottom end casting, outer rolled tin sleeve and a rolled tin internal baffle (See Photo 5), both inner and outer tin pieces have been spot welded as per the original design. The bottom casting will fit over 1” BSP pipes or fittings up to 35mm OD, and is then locked into place with a ½” Bolt.
While this silencer was originally intended for the Ronaldson & Tippett N Type engines, it would not look out of place on any small to medium sized vertical stationary engine that will accept a 1” BSP pipe fitting.
